Site Copyright

The web is great for finding things that are free. No doubt about it. I've had a lot of free things from the web myself, and I'm grateful for it.

I've also created a lot of original material for this website, from code to written word, images, and site design. That material is certainly here to be viewed, learned from, and enjoyed by anyone, and completely for free, as long as it stays where it is. Copying portions of this site to use elsewhere, though, is a restricted practice. It's allowed, but you must leave the work exactly as it is, and reference myself and this site as the source.

If you want to change the work, simply e-mail me, and tell me what exactly you want to use, where you want to use it, and why. I'll e-mail you back as soon as possible telling you whether or not I agree. If I agree, I will always insist that this site and/or my name is referenced in your work. If you don't do this, you're in breach of copyright.

You might wonder why I'd do this. Well, it's because I've worked hard to get this site's content together, and I have a vested interest in protecting it. Secondly, I have a genuine interest in where the work might be going, and you never know, I might have more material and other help that could be of use to you. I'm really quite a nice guy, as it happens. But, the point is, nobody likes the idea of their work being stolen, so it's a sensible measure to claim copyright on it.

You'll see this image dotted around the site as a reminder. If you click it, you can find more information about the Creative Commons copyright covering the site. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
